  1. Love Moria, but couldn’t eat a whole one! Prefer feather mattresses in The Shire. To sleep on not for eating.

A great listen, one thing I would like to mention is that I can hear you only in the left side of my headset. I can send a few silver pennies to pay for another Dwarf to yell in my right ear, if needed.

Looking forward to the next episode. Lilikate

  2. Found the podcast thanks to a Twitter plug by CSTM. You’ve got a good start, although I would say easing back a little on the cutesyness would be welcome. I enjoy the “sponsor” ads, but “LotRO calls for aid” makes me cringe a bit. 😉

In re: Moria, I never “hated” it, but I was incredibly glad to get past it and see the sunshine again back in the day. Back before the epics were soloable, Moria was crammed with bottlenecks that just got frustrating. That, combined with the lore-bruising introduction of the Runekeeper, the arcane nonsense of the LI system, and “haves and have-nots” schism created by the radiance mechanic, made for a lot of bad associations with Moria.

My second pass through Moria was a little better, because I happened to luck into a fairly reliable group long enough to get through it. Like all good groups, it seems, it didn’t last long, but it did last long enough to get me through both Moria and Mirkwood, which I loved. I don’t foresee having a group like that again, alas, although I would love to.

Strangely enough, while bringing a new alt through the game, getting to the revamped Moria felt like revisiting an old friend. It certainly flows much better now, but in some ways it’s a little too easy. Not just soloable, Moria has to some extent had its fangs pulled. But I realize that (A) I’m a fairly experienced player these days, and (B) it’s hard to balance these things.

    1. Don’t know why only the first line got posted but anyhoo great show, can’t wait for the next installment 🙂

  3. Great work – really enjoying the podcast! I found your narration and memories of Moria to be top-notch – nostalgia in a game (especially those with big worlds like MMOs) always gives me the feels, and you definitely offered that up on a platter.

    Keep up the awesome work!
